Today, after thirty three years, we find Coche and Alvaro giving conferences to share their experience to motivate other people who are enduring difficult situations. They do it not only because they need to, but because they feel it's a debt with life, which gave them a second chance.

Both Coche and Álvaro are still married to the girlfriends they had at the time of the accident.

Coche has three descendants: José Luis, 32 years old, Soledad, of 27 and María Eugenia of 23. After long years of work, he has retired from his former activity. Today he dedicates himself to learn how to paint, has completed various pictures with the mountain as the subject, and to expose, with Álvaro, their vision of their history.

 

Álvaro has four descendants: Daniela, 30 years old, Federico of 28, Margarita of 25 and Felipe of 19. Presently he represents a well-known Chilean company which sells material for the wine industry, and to transmit his experience of the seventy-two days spent in the mountain.
